The Syracuse University football team just gave Dino Babers the most significant win of his career on the Hill.

The Orange upset No. 2 Clemson 27-24 Friday night at the Carrier Dome, giving the Tigers their first loss of the season.

The win marks SU’s first upset of a top-2 team since 1984, when the Orange defeated Nebraska.

Eric Dungey passed for three touchdowns and 278 yards on 20-32 passing in the win.

Ervin Philips recorded 94 yards and a touchdown on four catches.

Syracuse was given something of an edge when Tigers quarterback Kelly Bryant left the game due to an injury.

The Orange improved to 4-3 overall on the season and 2-1 in ACC play, while the Tigers fell to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference.
