Troy and Canton wrestling raise over $10K for cancer awareness

It was an emotional night in Troy on Wednesday as the community came together. 

Two neighboring towns, Troy and Canton, teamed up in the fight against cancer. Although the Trojans cruised past the Warriors, 46-12, on the mat, both teams earned a major win together. Each team and their respective community raised over $10,000 dollars in honor of Canton’s Timmy Ward, a student-athlete recently diagnosed with cancer, and those affected by the disease. 

The special night was fueled by unique raffles and items that helped raised money in the battle against cancer. 18 Sports takes you to the highlights of the match, plus, check out scores from Thursday night:
