Easy Strawberry Mousse

14 oz. heavy whipping cream

14 oz. strawberries, fresh or frozen

1/4 cup powdered sugar

4 tsp. gelatin powder

2 tbsp. water

Fresh strawberries for garnish

Basic Preparation

In a cup , add the gelatin powder and water and heat in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Remove and stir until completely melted. Set aside and and puree the strawberries with the powdered sugar in a food processor. Pour the strawberries into a large mixing bowl and add the gelatin mixture. Mix until completely combined.

Next, pour the heavy cream into your mixer and mix until soft peaks appear. Do not mix to stiff peaks , as the mousse will not combine well.  Add the soft peak whip cream to the strawberry mixture and fold to combine. Continue this process until you have a uniform pink color. Cover the mousse with Saran Wrap and refrigerate for 4 hours.

Now, fill a steamed glass with the mousse and garnish with fresh strawberries. This is a great way to kick off Spring and enjoy the fruit that most everyone loves.

Yield: 6 servings

Prep Time: 15 minutes active, passive 4 hours

Cook Time: 2 minutes
