Italian Appetizer Puffs

1 lb. sweet Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
3 cups biscuit mix
4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup water

Basic Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Using a large sauté pan, sauté the Italian sausage until brown and crumbly. Drain off all of the grease and place in a large mixing bowl. Next, add the bacon and cheddar cheese and mix well to combine evenly. Now, add the biscuit mix and, again, mix to combine evenly. This premixing of all of the dry ingredients is very important to the success of this recipe.

Add the water and fold together until all of the ingredients are just moist. Roll the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls and place on a parchment covered cookie sheet. Keep the balls about 1 inch apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 16 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Serve with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping.
