Italian Sausage Puffs

Ingredients

1 lb. hot or sweet Italian sausage

2 cups Bisquick

1 lb. grated extra sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tsp. Italian seasoning

2 tsp. granulated garlic

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Next, place the Bisquick and dry spices in a large mixing bowl. Stir to incorporate all of the dry ingredients evenly.

Now, add all of the cheese and mix until all of the cheese is evenly distributed into the Bisquick mixture. Break the bulk Italian sausage up into the dry ingredients and mix, by hand, until all of the dry ingredients and cheese have been worked into the sausage.

Take some of the mixture and roll it into walnut size balls. Place the sausage puffs on the lined cookie sheet, taking care to keep them about one inch apart.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Serve with your favorite marinara sauce, garnish with fresh basil.

Yields: 36 pieces or 12 servings
