Elmira High School celebrates 2019 graduation


Elmira, NY (PRESS RELEASE) – Some 300 Elmira seniors walked across the stage at Friday’s 2019 Graduation Ceremony held at First Arena in downtown Elmira. Over 3,000 people attended the ceremony, including family, faculty, Elmira Mayor, Elmira School Board of Education and school administration. 

The class of 2019 of Elmira High School celebrated their big day. Both the Valedictorian and Salutatorian addressed their class with words of inspiration. Kathy Nyugen, Valedictorian, will attend Harvard University in the fall to study Actuarial Mathematics. 

Principal Chris Krantz saluted the class as a prestigious and well-rounded student body with an impressively high academic standard. Some 43 members of the class were inducted into the National Honor Society, and 65 Seniors graduates with High Honors.
