Elmira Police respond to home invasion on McDowell Place

According to the Elmira police department, at 1:10 a.m. on the morning of June 5, officers responded to a call about a home invasion robbery at 535 McDowell Place. 

A preliminary investigation revealed that two men forced their way into the home with handguns. Two females, ages 19 and 21, were tied up during the incident. An adult male was struck in the face with a handgun causing a laceration to his face. The intruders ransacked the apartment, however the occupants did not report anything taken from the home.

The suspects were described as black males wearing blue bandannas over their faces. One male was approx. 6’02” and the other 5’06”.

The occupants of the residence called 911, but when police arrived, they refused to cooperate, and demanded that officers leave the scene.
