…WIND CHILL WARNING IN EFFECT FOR TIOGA (Pa.) UNTIL 9 AM FRIDAY…
An arctic air mass over the region leads to dangerously cold wind chill values. Temperatures drop to near -10 degrees Wednesday night. Winds out of the west 10-20 mph with wind gusts of 25+ mph possible. Wind chill values as cold as -35 degrees possible into early Thursday, which could cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes to exposed skin.
Dangerously low wind chills continue to be the concern through Thursday. Wind chill values during the morning of -20 degrees to -30 degrees possible. Highs for the afternoon near 10 degrees, but wind chills from -10 to -20 degrees still expected. Temperatures Thursday night drop to near -5 degrees for lows, and wind chill remain below zero through the overnight. Mainly dry for the Twin Tiers Thursday.
Little relief for Friday. Winds still breezy and temperatures reach into the mid to upper teens for highs. A warming trend for the weekend with highs above average for this time of the year. Saturday near 40 degrees, and Sunday into the 40s for temperatures. This warming trend comes with the next storm system making an impact on the region. Chance for a wintry mix Sunday, and a chance for rain early next week.
