MONDAY SUNRISE: 7:36 AM
MONDAY SUNSET: 4:45 PM
A frosty start to the week with wake up temperatures in the 20s. Clouds will gradually increase through the morning hours with limited sunshine on our hands for the second half of the day. A strong low pressure system will move into the Ohio Valley then to the Great Lakes bringing moisture and warmer air to the region today. Winds increase through the afternoon as warm air ushers in from the south. Still, we can’t rule out some pockets of sleet & freezing rain Monday evening into the overnight, especially for higher elevations. Steady rain into the evening, then tapering to occasional showers for the overnight. High temperatures Monday will range in the mid to upper-40s. Total rainfall amounts of 0.50-1.50″ for the Twin Tiers is possible through Tuesday morning.
Temperatures will be on the rise through the overnight hours, in the 40s as warm air continues to draw in from the south. Strong gusty winds will be the case overnight with gusts anywhere from 25-45 mph at times.
A gusty cold front slides in Tuesday bringing colder air and will the showery weather in the forecast. A mixture of rain, sleet, and snow is possible depending on air temperature profiles. High temperatures Tuesday range in the mid to upper 40s. Overnight lows Tuesday night in the mid to upper 20s. Colder but seasonable air through midweek with a chance for flurries. Another slight warm-up by the end of the work week, and the chance for both rain and snow continues.
