High Wind Warning continues for the Twin Tiers through Monday with west winds anywhere from 20-40 mph and wind gusts upwards of 55-65 mph possible.
Areas of scattered lake effect snow showers impact the Twin Tiers early with very strong west winds, limiting visibility. Peak wind gusts will be Monday morning through the afternoon hours as sustained wind speeds range anywhere from 20-40 mph with gusts upwards of 45-60 mph at times. The chance for lake effect snow showers lingers through the afternoon so blowing/ drifting snow is possible. Visibilities may be reduced. High temperatures reach the low-30s this afternoon with some breaks of sunshine through the afternoon. This may cause blowing/drifting snow- reducing visibilities. This could also cause power outages, as downed trees and limbs are possible. Driving conditions may become dangerous to high profile vehicles as well with high wind speeds.
Overnight lows drop to the teens. Winds will start to die down in the evening hours but will stay breezy, anywhere from 10-20 mph with gusts upwards of 25 mph at times. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy and the weather pattern remains dry heading into Tuesday.
Sunshine will return Tuesday as high pressure builds in. High temperatures Tuesday range in the mid-20s. Our next best chance to see some light snow will be Wednesday afternoon with high temperatures in the low-30s.
