Breaks in cloud cover Tuesday evening, then increasing clouds late. Chance for light showers to flurries lingers with no accumulation expected. Temperatures drop to near 10 degrees for overnight lows with northerly winds 0-10 mph.
A clipper system moving into the region makes an impact Wednesday. Snow becomes likely for the Northern Tier by early morning, then pushing into the Southern Tier before noon. Majority of the snowfall moves into the Southern Tier by afternoon with occasional light snowfall for the Northern Tier. Snow likely throughout the Twin Tiers by evening into the overnight. Average snowfall ranges from 3-6″ with the highest amounts being in Steuben and Schuyler counties. Highs Wednesday approaching 30 degrees and lows Wednesday night near 20 degrees.
Snowfall tapers early Thursday as an area of high pressure builds into the region. Slight chance for snow and rain Friday. Highs Thursday near 30 degrees, then near 40 degrees for Friday. Next storm brings a chance for both snow and rain Saturday. High Saturday near 40 degrees, then another drop in temperatures Sunday into early next week.
