A dry and sunny start to the area on Thursday, as we track our next weather maker approaching the area. Clouds will increase into the afternoon Thursday with winds turning out of the northwest 5-10 mph. This northwesterly flow acts to keep us slightly cooler today with highs in the upper 40s close to 50 degrees. We end the day mostly cloudy and track our next chance for a wintry mix to rain moving into tonight.
Tonight we see winds begin to calm, as precipitation moves in and low temperatures in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees, we may see a wintry mix develop across the area. This looks to continue until around sunrise Friday before we warm back up into the mid to upper 40s. Take it slow on the roads Friday morning just in case there are any slick spots! The wintry mix then transitions over into all rainfall, with showers lasting through Friday afternoon and evening. Light ice is a possibility in some locations early Friday morning and any snowfall amounts are staying under a dusting for higher elevations. Rainfall totals less than half an inch.
Showers may linger into early Saturday, but we look to stay mainly dry this weekend with some sunshine and warming temperatures in the low to mid-60s both Saturday and Sunday. That next chance for showers looks to return Sunday night.
