AVERAGE HIGH FOR JULY 11TH: 82°
AVERAGE LOW FOR JULY 11TH: 57°
THURSDAY SUNRISE: 5:41 AM
THURSDAY SUNSET: 8:44 PM
A frontal system impacting the region Thursday. Best timing for showers and thunderstorms will be in the evening to early overnight as the cold front moves into the region. Plenty of moisture available for heavy rainfall, but will be fast moving so that should help limit flooding concerns. Storm Prediction Center keeps the Twin Tiers in a Slight Risk (1 out 5, 1 being the lowest) for strong to severe thunderstorm development. Gusty winds and isolated large hail are possible with any strong to severe thunderstorms that may develop. Chance for light showers continues overnight with patchy fog. Lows Thursday night in the low to mid 60s.
Lingering light showers Friday as the frontal system is slow to move out. Northwest winds ushering in drier and also cooler air. Highs Friday into the mid to upper 70s, which is slightly below average for this time of the year. Decreasing clouds late day, turning mainly clear overnight. A round of fog develops and lows in the mid to upper 50s.
Some sunshine returning for Saturday, but a weak surface front brings a chance for isolated showers and a rumble of thunder late day into the overnight. Little if any rainfall expected as moisture will be limited. Highs Saturday in the low to mid 80s. High pressure builds into the region Sunday, which brings more sunshine and less humid air. Highs Sunday near 80 degrees. High pressure holds through Monday, then chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms again by Tuesday.
