A high pressure system is setting in for today and will remain in place throughout tomorrow. Temperatures today expected to reach highs in the lower 80s, heat indexes may make it feel a little hotter. Breezy conditions at times, it should still be a beautiful day to go out and enjoy summer. Clear skies tonight allow temperatures to drop significantly into the mid to upper 50s, which is about average for this time of year.
Going into tomorrow, high pressure remains in place and temperatures will begin to increase even more. Tomorrow’s highs in the low to mid 80s with partly cloudy skies. Cloudy increasing late into the overnight hours. Low temperatures Monday night bottoming out in the lower 60s.
Our break from rain comes to an end after Monday. Remnants of Tropical Storm Barry start to impact the Twin Tiers. Highs Tuesday also become much higher with highs in the upper 80s, maybe pushing into the low 90s. Those temperatures will remain in place for the rest of the week along with shower and thunderstorm chances. Rain from Barry expected to impact our region Wednesday into Thursday. Another frontal system passes through Friday. A large high pressure to set in place after Saturday bringing very hot temperatures for most of the country.
