A cold front approaching the region Tuesday brings scattered showers and thunderstorms for the afternoon and evening. Storm Prediction Center has most of the Twin Tiers in a Slight Risk for strong to severe thunderstorm development (2 out of 5, 5 being the highest) with gusty winds along with heavy rainfall possible. Average rainfall amounts staying under 0.50″, but localized higher amounts possible in any convection that may develop. Isolated rainfall lingers after dark along with cloud cover and patchy fog. Lows Tuesday night in the low to mid 60s.
Slow moving cold front continues to push through the region Wednesday. Isolated to scattered showers and embedded thunderstorms possible, best chances in the afternoon and evening hours. Highs Wednesday near 80 degrees. Slightly cooler and drier air works into the region Wednesday night. Drying out with decreasing cloud cover. Fog develops late and lows in the mid to upper 50s.
