AVERAGE HIGH FOR JULY 4TH: 82°

AVERAGE LOW FOR JULY 4TH: 57°

THURSDAY SUNRISE: 5:37 AM

THURSDAY SUNSET: 8:46 PM

Stationary front continuing to impact the region. Activity decreases after dark with the loss of heating. Still can’t rule out an isolated shower or thunderstorm, though. Staying warm and muggy overnight with lows near 70 degrees. Mostly cloudy with patchy fog late.

The stationary front moves slightly into Friday and with afternoon heating this brings the chance for more showers and thunderstorms. Nothing strong to severe expected, but these will be slow moving with plenty of moisture available. Keeping an eye on areas prone to poor drainage. Average rainfall under 0.50″, but isolated higher amounts possible in slow moving showers and thunderstorms. Highs into the mid to upper 80s and dew point temperatures close to 70 degrees, putting heat index values into the low to mid 90s. Again, activity should decrease after dark but still can’t rule out an isolated shower and thunderstorm. Lows Friday night near 70 degrees.

The potential for heavy rainfall continues Saturday as a surface front pushes through the region. Showers and thunderstorms return and may be slow moving with plenty of moisture to tap into. Keeping an eye on areas prone to poor drainage. Highs Saturday into the 80s with dew points again close to 70 degrees. High pressure provides some relief from the rainfall by Sunday. This comes along with a drier air mass, decreasing our humidity. Highs for Sunday close to 80 degrees. Frontal boundary shifts to our south Monday as high pressure continues to build into the region. This should keep the Twin Tiers dry Monday and provide some sunshine. Highs Monday close to 80 degrees. Dry weather continues through Tuesday and most of Wednesday, then chance for showers and thunderstorms by Thursday. Highs next week close to the average for this time of the year.
