A cold front moves into the region late day Thursday bringing the chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours. Models hinting at strong to severe thunderstorm development, best chances in portions of western New York and Pennsylvania. Gusty winds along with heavy rainfall possible. Average rainfall amounts of 0.25-0.50″, but localized higher amounts possible in any stronger to severe thunderstorms that may develop. Highs Thursday again near 80 degrees. Rainfall lingers overnight and lows in the mid to upper 50s.
Behind this front, cooler and less humid air returns to end the workweek. Isolated showers possible for Friday and Saturday as weak disturbances pass through, but most stay dry. High pressure also building into the region this weekend, which will help keep most dry and give us some sunshine. Highs Friday and for the weekend into the 70s and lows into the 50s.
