High pressure remains in control of our region into the weekend. Mainly clear skies continue for Friday night. Limited to no cloud cover combined with calm winds help set the stage for radiational cooling, allowing temperatures to drop quickly. Lows Friday night near 50 degrees. Light winds also helping with valley fog formation overnight.
High pressure shifts east on Saturday and winds turn to out of the southwest. Winds usher in some warmth along with moisture for the afternoon. A weak disturbance combined with afternoon heating may trigger some isolated showers in portions of western NY and Pa., but little if any rainfall at all. Highs Saturday near 80 degrees. Some light cloud cover overnight holding in some heat with lows in the mid to upper 50s.
One more summer day Sunday before fall officially arrives on Monday. Highs Sunday in the low to mid 80s, feeling muggy for the afternoon. Staying dry but with increasing cloud cover. Lows Sunday night near 60 degrees. A cold front drops through the region Monday giving us a chance for showers. Cooler and drier air works in behind the front. Highs Monday in the mid to upper 70s, closer to 70 degrees for Tuesday.
