MONDAY SUNSET: 7:32 PM
A relatively nice weekend graced the Twin Tiers with fall-like temperatures. We had some light rain showers scattered throughout, but it did not bring down the mood. A wave north of the area is moving on allowing for another shortwave trough to move through tomorrow afternoon, we will largely be unaffected by that shortwave. Highs tomorrow will be in the low to mid 70s with some sunshine, similar to Sunday but without the rain chances. Tomorrow’s low is in the lower 50s, right around average with clouds increasing.
Tuesday begins the warming trend as a high pressure system takes hold of the southeast United States. That system is going to redirect warm air from the southwest U.S. into our area, warming us considerably while also bringing shower and thunderstorm chances. Tuesday sees a high in the upper 70s with mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers in the PM. Lows Tuesday will drop to the mid 60s, well above average for this time of year.
Wednesday continues the warming trend and it stays in place for the remainder of the forecast period. Chances of showers and thunderstorms with the increased instability and a high in the mid 80s, well above average for the time. Lows again drop to the mid 60s, as the cloud cover will not let the surfaced heating escape into the atmosphere at night.
