Bick Barnett (1988-1990)

Where Are They Now
Bick worked as an anchor, reporter, producer and weatherman at Channel 18 from 1988 to 1990.  It is agreed: The Twin Tiers are the best training ground for TV in the country.

Bick spent many years in the Upstate New York before heading to Los Angeles on an ill-fated search for acting stardom.  On the day he signed a contract to produce radio in Minneapolis, he was offered a Bud Light commercial.  He turned it down and drove blindly into the tundra.

Bick has since owned a theater, done lots of Twin Cities radio, acted in commercials, hosting public television, and is the morning anchor of the Minnesota News Network, a statewide radio network serving 80 affiliates, most of which were wryly mentioned in the movie “Fargo.”
He has also shot and produced two documentaries and recently made a short movie about 1930s criminals called “Gangsterland.”   << Shameless website plug:  >> Bick is married to a beautiful and quirky wife and has a beautiful and quirky young daughter.  He also coaches girls’ softball and likes growing basil.  He thinks fondly about Elmira-Corning-Ithaca and his friends there daily.  That’s the truth.
